Description:  Uses: A pigment from plants. Has antioxidant and immunostimulent properties. Used to prevent or treat cancer, HIV, heart disease, and leukoplakia. Can be converted into retinol and is classified as a provitamin A carotenoid, but does not increase overall vitamin A levels or lead to vitamin A toxicity.

Beta Carotene is a non-toxic form of vitamin A. The body controls the conversion of beta carotene into vitamin A in accordance with its needs. Until conversion, beta carotene is safely stored in the body. Contains no added sugar, salt, dairy, yeast, wheat, corn, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors. Suggested Use:  As a dietary supplement, adults take one (1) softgel capsule daily with meals, or as directed by a healthcare professional.

Warnings:  Interactions: Ethanol may block the conversion of beta-carotene to vitamin A. Hepatotoxic effects of ethanol may be potentiated by high doses of beta-carotene.

Side Effects: None reported. High carotenoid intake may lead to a harmless, yellowish discoloration of the skin.
